LASIK studies have even led to the approval of the use of LASIK for astronauts, deeming it suitable for low-pressure and low-oxygen situations. “If it’s good enough for an astronaut,” says Dr. Steven Schallhorn, a NASA consultant, “I think a lot of people can choose LASIK with a lot more confidence.”
