Wage Range: $19 – $28 dependent on certification

Work hours are somewhere between 7 am and 5:30 pm dependent on the position and patient needs.  Some positions may work on a Saturday rotation with hours between 7 am and 12 pm.

Responsibilities:

As our Optician, you will assist and educate patients in appropriate selection of optical goods for patient’s needs.

What You’ll Do Every Day

• Take necessary measurements
• Process orders, post charges, and enter insurance into the computer system
• Dispense optical goods, as well as perform repairs & adjustments
• Assist with contact lens teachings
• Assist with inventory control, and answer department telephones

Qualifications & Skills Needed:

• High school graduate
• Optical experience
• ABO certification is not mandatory, but opticians are encouraged to obtain certification
• Adapt and fit corrective eyewear, including eyeglasses and contact lenses as prescribed
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and customer service skills
• Optical knowledge to educate patients regarding availability/use of optical products
• Computer skills

Pekin and Washington 

  • Closed from December 23rd through December 27th. All services will be available in Peoria per the below schedule. We will reopen with normal business hours on 12/30.
 

Peoria Office (including Optical Department and EyeCareToday – Same Day)

  • December 23rd – normal business hours
  • December 24th – Closed (*By appointment only)
  • December 25th – Closed
  • December 26th – normal business hours resume
 

All offices (Peoria, Washington, Peoria, Optical Department, and EyeCareToday – Same Day)

  • December 31st, all offices will close early at 4:00 PM
  • January 1st – Closed (*By appointment only)
  • January 2nd – normal business hours resume
