Responsibilities:
As our Facility Maintenance person, you would insure maintenance of all building systems including preventative maintenance, so there will be no down time during regular work hours.
What You’ll Do Every Day
Facility
- Handle repairs that require basic skills as an electrician, carpenter, plumber, mechanic, painter, HVAC technician and roofer
- Prepare and carry out a preventative maintenance plan
- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Order parts, supplies, and equipment from purchasing department
- Conduct regular inspections to determine areas that need attention and then perform the tasks.
- Inspect for burned-out light bulbs and ballasts and replace them
- Change the filters in the air conditioning systemsPerform general maintenance on sanitary and mechanical systems of buildings
- Patch cracks in concrete pavement or drywall, and paint worn surfaces
- Paint or repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures.
- Responsible for keeping structures and the surroundings clean and usable.
- Shovel snow from sidewalks and apply salt
- Clean up debris around facility and parking lot
- Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Test generator once a month
- Balance slit lamps on a regular basis
- Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment
- Assist with construction or remodeling projects
- Move furniture and equipment upon instruction
Medical Equipment
- Diagnose and repair ophthalmic equipment quickly and efficiently
- Inspect and test malfunctioning medical or related equipment, following manufacturers’ specifications and using test and analysis instruments.
- Inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear.
- Test or calibrate components or equipment, following manufacturers’ manuals and troubleshooting techniques, using hand tools, power tools, or measuring devices. Test mechanical systems to ensure proper functioning.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills Needed:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least five years of building maintenance experience. Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Knowledge of the practices; procedures; equipment and materials used in the maintenance and repair of buildings and related systems (i.e. mechanical, electrical, heating and plumbing).
- Ability to assess situations and make appropriate judgments.
- Working knowledge of building plans and specifications
- Must have own transportation and be able to travel between all of our facilities
