Jacob J. Abou-Hanna, MD

Dr. Jacob Abou-Hanna is a comprehensive Ophthalmologist with a broad range of expertise in treating various eye diseases and conditions. He earned his MD from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, MI, with a distinction in Medical Education and the Edward P. Kathryn M. Bellas Scholarship. Dr. Abou-Hanna holds dual BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Biology, both summa cum laude, from Bradley University in Peoria, IL.

He completed his preliminary medicine internship and his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, WI. Dr. Abou-Hanna has received numerous accolades, including the 2023 “Cookie Award” for his outstanding contributions to the residency program, and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Abou-Hanna has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and developed educational resources for medical students. He resides in Peoria, with his wife and children. In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer and volleyball, hiking, camping, and learning German.
